At some point in your life you have probably experienced a sore throat, skin rashes, knee pain or a sprained ankle.  These are normal immune system responses to external pathogens or sudden trauma.  These kinds of inflammation are appropriate – our body’s natural response to survival, preservation and healing.

However, the trouble arises when this natural defense system runs amok.  This can clearly be seen in common conditions like allergies, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, auto immune diseases such as fibromyalgia and so on.  This is bad inflammation and if left unchecked can cause chronic illness, rapid aging and limit our ability to function optimally.

Common treatment protocols like anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen and/or Aspirin may help with acute problems however they can jeopardize your natural immune response and cause long term detrimental effects.
